Laundry Soap Bar - shredded

Did you want to make your own laundry detergent, but the thought of grating it changes your mind?   I took the hard work away.

Use this in your recipes for making your own laundry detergent.  Below is a recipe for a powdered detergent.
It is made with my homemade laundry soap bar.  This bar is make for cleaning, not for your body.
Laundry Detergent recipe:
  • 1 Bag of Laundry Soap Bar - grated
  • 3 cups of borax – the brand that is available in most stores is 20 Mule Team®
  • 3 cups of washing soda – the brand that is available in most stores is Arm and Hammer®
1. Mix the grated soap with a small amount of washing soda in a coffee grinder or food processor.
2. Mix with the borax and the rest of the washing soda.
Use 0.5 -1 Tbsp per load (or 2 Tbsp for large or heavily soiled loads).
Note about HE washers:
HE washers require ’special soap’ for one reason - low suds. This detergent recipe is very low suds. I have been using this detergent for years in my HE washer.
Note about septic tanks:
This is the best soap to use with septic tanks because it contains zero phosphates and zero fillers that cause commercial powder detergents to clog lines.

This listing is for 12.6 oz. of grated soap, equal to 3 bars of soap.
